How-to Blow a Bubble

2nd grade would tell you, "writing how-to papers are FUN because Mrs. Dominguez gave us gum at school!"

To start the lesson each student received a piece of Double Bubble gum.  As we chewed the gum, in preparation for extreme bubble blowing, we discussed the steps and process of preparing the fresh gum for a bubble.  Each student recorded what they did first, next and last.

After writing an incredible hook, they wrote their rough draft using complete sentences.

2nd graders are becoming experts at editing and proofreading writing!  Once the editing process was complete, they were able to finish the writing portion with their final copy.

Shortly to follow was designing their self portrait with construction paper and adding a big, pink, "bubble".

*all gum was disposed of after the lesson :)
