PUBLIC HEARING

CALL TO ORDER      6:02 p.m.

 

Public Hearing on Financial Integrity Rating System was held. No questions asked.

 

REGULAR BOARD MEETING

CALL TO ORDER      6:05 p.m. Regular Board Meeting

 

PUBLIC                      Michael Mann spoke on the High School.

FORUM                     

 

MINUTES                   Chris O’Quinn moved and Dave Blankman seconded to accept the       minutes from the August 25, 2007 Board meeting.  The motion         carried unanimously. Sandra Schmitt moved and Nancy Cawthon

                                    seconded to accept the minutes from the September 20, 2007   Board meeting. The motion carried unanimously.

 

FINANCIAL               Karl Dickinson moved and Dave Blankman seconded to

REPORT                     approve the financial report as presented. The motion carried unanimously. Nancy Cawthon moved and Dave Blankman seconded to approve the payment of bills. The motion carried unanimously.

                                   

SUPERINTENDENT  Superintendent Kelm attended the TASB convention and reports 

REPORT                     there was some good workshops. The District Cross Country meet was held at Lackland. Hunt students competed against 9 other teams. The boys won 3rd place and the girls won 1st place in District.

                                     

PRESIDENT’S            Blake Smith gave an update on High School Task Force.

MENTOR                    Pam Este reported on the new 07-08 mentoring program implemented at Hunt ISD. There are 5 mentors at this time. An orientation and training was held for them. Pam Este put together a handbook to give each mentor. Orlene Kitzman explained the Kids Hope mentoring program and how it would work with the Hunt ISD program.  Chris O’Quinn moved and Karl Dickinson seconded to approve the Kids Hope mentoring program at Hunt Independent School District.  The motion carried unanimously.

 

KCAD                         Dave Blankman moved and Sandra Schmitt seconded to nominate Kirk Griffin and Philip Stacy to the Kerr County Appraisal District Board. The motion carried unanimously.

 

UPDATE 81                Karl Dickinson moved and Sandra Schmitt seconded to adopt  Update 81. The motion carried unanimously.

 

ELECTION                 No action taken. A Public Meeting needs to be held to discuss how to conduct School Board elections and change Board Members terms.

 

EARLY RELEASE      Dave Blankman moved and Sandra Schmitt seconded to approve early release on December 07,2007 due to hosting UIL academic meet. The motion carried unanimously.

 

SUB LIST                    Sandra Schmitt moved and Chris O’Quinn seconded to approve the additions to the substitute list. The motion carried unanimously.                      

HIGH SCHOOL          Dave Blankman moved and Chris O’Quinn seconded to move forward and open a High School at Hunt Independent School District. The vote was 5-1 with one member absent, Sandra Schmitt voted nay. The motion carried.

                                   

NEXT MEETING        Next meeting date is set for November 15, 2007 at 6:00 p.m.
